Should I use netfile or efile software?
Netfile is for individuals who prepare their own taxes or those of family and friends. Starting from the 2007 tax year, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires all Netfile software to limit preparation to 20 returns per software installation per computer.
Efile is for those who run a business preparing taxes for others. To use Efile, you must register with the CRA, obtain an Efiler ID and password, and renew it annually. You can apply online through the CRA Efiler website.
